A greener Thoroughbred Park

The masterplan has been designed with sustainability and environmental impact top of mind. The Canberra Racing Club is working with the ACT Government on a $2bn masterplan which would see homes as well as restaurants, cafes and shops developed across 17 hectares of land. Design of the Thoroughbred Park Precinct will incorporate landscape values, water sensitive urban design, and active travel; and contribute to the ACT’s living infrastructure plan.

The Thoroughbred Park Precinct will be transformed into a vibrant, sustainable community hub, supported by a $2 billion investment. Spanning 17 hectares along Sullivans Creek, the precinct will deliver new homes, public spaces, and active travel connections that enhance sustainability values and neighbourhood connectivity. The project aligns with the ACT Government’s commitment to enable 30,000 new homes by 2030 while integrating green infrastructure, water-sensitive design, and a strong focus on public amenity.
